Role Overview

We are looking for a curious and analytical Associate / Senior Associate with 3-5 years of relevant experience who is eager to make real impact on the future of learning. As part of a small, multidisciplinary consulting team, you will work on projects that shape educational institutions, digital products, and data-driven strategies. You will independently lead workstreams/projects and contribute to delivery from research and analysis through concept development to implementation. The role provides clear opportunities to grow into senior consulting, product leadership, or strategic management positions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support project planning, coordination, and documentation to ensure the high-quality delivery.
  • Plan, execute, and deliver project workstreams for clients, collaborating closely with other workstream owners and senior colleagues overseeing the overall project.
  • Guide and support the development of junior colleagues through feedback, coordination, and collaboration during project delivery.
  • Contribute to the design of strategies, process improvements, or digital tools that address client challenges.
  • Prepare and deliver concise presentations and documents and present key insights and recommendations to clients and project stakeholders.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a professional with:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills — able to structure problems, work with data, and draw insights.
  • Working knowledge of software (Power Point, Excel, Google Sheets, ChatGPT etc.) and a strong motivation to deepen analytical skills.
  • Clear and confident communication skills in both Hungarian and English, written and verbal.
  • A collaborative and adaptable mindset, thriving in multidisciplinary team environments.
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in any field.
  • Consulting experience or experience working on projects for external clients, ideally in innovation or data-driven environments.

Solutions Lab is committed to pay transparency. The salary range for this position is 1,050,000 – 1,350,000 HUF gross per month, but can be adjusted depending on experience and role scope.

Our Recruitment Process

Our selection process is designed to be transparent, fair, and an opportunity for you to get to know us as much as we get to know you. We aim to understand how you think, solve problems, and approach challenges — not just what’s on your CV.

1. Application & CV Screening

We review applications on a rolling basis and encourage candidates to apply as early as possible. Our recruitment process runs in two waves: applications submitted by March 19 will be considered in the first wave, while applications submitted by April 6 will be considered in the second wave.

After reviewing your application, our team carefully assesses your background, motivation, and alignment with the role. If your profile matches what we’re looking for, we’ll invite you to the next stage.

2. Take-Home Case Assignment

Shortlisted candidates receive a take-home case to solve at their own pace. The exercise assesses analytical, qualitative, and quantitative thinking, allowing you to demonstrate how you approach real-world consulting problems. Clear instructions and supporting materials will be provided to help you structure your work.

3. In-Person Assessment Day

Successful candidates are invited to an in-person assessment session at our Budapest office, lasting approximately three hours.

The session includes three parts:

  • A TSA (Thinking Skills Assessment) to evaluate structured reasoning.
  • A group problem-solving exercise, where you’ll collaborate with others to tackle a challenge.
  • Individual interviews focusing on your motivation, experience, and how you approach complex situations.

4. Final Round Interviews

Candidates who perform strongly in the assessment day are invited to a final round of in-person interviews.

This stage includes:

  • A case study–based problem-solving interview, where you work through a real consulting-style scenario with a senior team member.
  • A partner interview, focused on your long-term potential, fit with our values, and your aspirations within the team.

This final step gives you the chance to ask deeper questions, understand our work and culture more fully, and ensure that Solutions Lab is the right place for your growth.
